Prayers of the Faithful
Twenty Eighth Sunday Ordinary Time – OCTOBER 14th, 2012
October 13th/14th 28th SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
Cel —– In the name of the Lord Jesus, the source and lover of life, we make our intentions to God our Father,
That we will learn to set aside distractions and unhelpful attachments and live out the Gospel values of love of God and love of neighbour, Lord hear us
That our community and society will not focus on material wealth alone but will recognise and support the deeper values of love and justice and the integrity of creation, Lord hear us
In this week of the 50th anniversary of the commencement of Vatican 2, we pray that its wisdom and vision will help to renew our church, Lord hear us,
For all who are faced with redundancy and job loss, that they will find a pathway to a good future of new opportunities, Lord hear us
That people who are ill may find the care they need, promptly and with compassion, Lord hear us
For all who have died, especially __________ who died recently and for _____________ and all whose anniversaries occur at this time; may they enjoy the eternal happiness of heaven, Lord hear us
Let us pray,
Lord God, in you we live and move and have our being. May we walk in the way of Jesus your Son, live by his truth, and spread his love wherever we may be. We ask this in his name, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Prayers of the Faithful from Gardiner Street Parish, Dublin.
thanks for the ready made prayers of the faithful…and if possible can you have a daily prayers of the faithful? so that it could be easy for those people who are looking for the prayers for the mass..
We’re glad that the prayers are useful. That’s a good idea about daily prayer, but for now I’m afraid we are a bit short on resources in the parish (what’s new?!) and can only commit to updating the weekly reflections and Sunday prayers. But we hope to continue to develop online resources as much as possible, so maybe in the future. Thanks for your comment.
Prayers of the faithful online is very helpful and if you can also include some samples for those who are celebrating wedding anniversaries. Thank you so much.
Thanks from Joan of St Boniface Parish in Knysna South Africa i make use of the prayers in working out something that suits us here – what an excellent reference Thank You
I am blessed by your reflections on the Gospel and use them in my Sunday Cuts routinely. We are blessed at St. Albert the Great Parish in Calgary, Alberta with two deeply spiritual and graced priests. I’m passing on to you the wordpress link for our associate pastor, Father Jerome Lavigne, in hopes that you might enjoy some of his homilies. Continue your good works and bless you. http://swordsoftruth.com/frjerome/
We are so pleased that this little online initiative from our parish is a help! Following Fr Jerome’s posts now. Blessings from Gardiner Street, Dublin.
Thank you so much for your prayers for the faithful. As I prepare the children’s liturgy for tomorrow’s Mass here in Aberdeen, it has taken the anxiety out of ensuring that the prayers are suitable. For anyone else who prepares a liturgy for children, the following website gives an excellent structure, http://catholicchildrensliturgy.blogspot.co.uk/2012/05/june-3-2012-feast-of-holy-trinity.html
I am a seminarian@ st. Paul’s college seminary in Gbarga, Liberia- west africa.
